About Me
Hello, my name is Dr Mhairi McGregor. I am a chartered member of the British Psychology Society (BPS) and practitioner of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I have over ten years of experience in sport performance contexts as a high performance athlete and coach. I have experience as a sport psychologist in a range of performance contexts including professional football, rugby, water polo, hockey, and a range of individual sports.
The logo represents my background in field hockey, a sport I began playing at a young age. I was drawn to the team environment, as well as the tactical and technical elements of the game. Throughout my journey, I have experienced both highs, including winning league titles and reaching cup finals, and lows, such as not being selected for performance teams. These experiences have taught me the importance of resilience and how to develop confidence in my own abilities. I am now a member of a Scottish Premiership team.
It was important that the logo reflected my history in field hockey, as the sport was my introduction to the sporting world and sparked my interest in the psychology behind athletic performance. While field hockey has played a significant role in shaping my sporting journey and professional interests, I am passionate about applying my understanding of sport psychology across a range of sports.
